Good News: Researchers find solution to hair loss through a drug

Recently however a new finding shows that there is hope for patients suffering from the disease by means of a drug. In a research conducted by researchers of Columbia University Medical Centre (CUMC) has shown that 75% of patients suffering from alopecia areata have had significant hair re growth after being treated with a drug called ruxolitinib. It was found in this study that by the end of the treatment hair re growth was 92%. Ruxolitinib is a drug which has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of USA. Experts in the field are of the opinion that this is very encouraging news for patients suffering from the problem. They often have major physical and emotional effects of this disfiguring autoimmune disease. This is a disease which can happen to both men and women at any age. The fact that this drug has been found to be useful in the treatment of hair loss for people suffering from the disease is indeed heartening.
